Bread 4 Life

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life, He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” -John 6:35


Bread 4 Life is a campaign to help eliminate hunger in the Flushing schools in the name of Jesus.
Each week, bags are packed with healthy foods for grade schoolers to take home for the weekend.  If you would like to become a part of this impacting ministry please contact  Elizabeth Smith at 810.659.5926 or email: elizabeth.smith@holycrosslutheran.com

Wake The Bear Race

After listening to the feedback from our participants, we are happy to announce that we will be adding a competitive walk to the races this year!

The Wake The Bear Race is going to be a fun exciting event in beautiful Flushing, Michigan. You will enjoy great view while compete against your fellow runners. We are happy to announce that every runner will receive a finishers medal after crossing the finish line..   1st place award will be given to the top finisher in each age group. Run like a bear coming out of hibernation is chasing you!

The course is set in beautiful Flushing, Michigan. You will find an enchanting run through the rolling hills of Flushing Park, that will lead you across bridges, through the woods and along the river.

A. The Race will be held on May 5, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Rain, Snow, or Shine.

Q. How do you Wake The Bear!
A. You Wake The Bear by coming out of hibernation, join us in all types of weather to kick off the spring, give it your all  and help feed the kids.


Q. Are there any price discounts?
A. Yes, There are four planned price increases.
February  1, 2017, March 1, April 1, 2018 and Race Day.  Make sure you register before those dates to get the discounted prices.

All proceeds will go to the Bread For Life Organization.

Q. Are there going to be Finishers Medals at this year race?
A. Yes,  All runners who finish this years race will receive a medal.  First place finishes in each age group will receive an additional award.

Q. Where do I park?
A. Parking will be available at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Coutant St. or at Spring View Elementary School.
